From Hobby To Passion To Business
For Game 7’s owner and CEO, Nik Key, collecting sports memorabilia was a hobby that grew out of the love for the game of baseball. Growing up in a small town where baseball and basketball were the only sports offered, Nik immediately became attached to baseball. He played baseball for his high school, collected cards, and eventually transitioned into collecting autographed baseballs after seeing his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals, in-person and receiving an autograph from one of his favorite players of all time, Jim Edmonds.
After graduating high school, Nik’s passion for the hobby only grew, where he began focusing on different inscription sets in order to illustrate the history of baseball though autographs. After completing the sets as best he could himself, he began helping other collectors track down baseballs they were looking for in order to help complete their collections, thus sparking the beginning of a business that would eventually evolve into Game 7 Authentics.
Game 7 Authentics was officially established in June of 2015. Since then, we have sold sports memorabilia in all 50 states and 10 different countries, including: United States, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Israel, Japan, China, Scotland (UK), and New Zealand.
